vacation week - part two

The last few days of our vacation were just as busy as the beginning of the week.

Thursday: I gave Ray a day off and took Bodhi to Orange County to visit with my family. We went to Concerts in the Park which is just a few blocks from my parents house. The Kid and Nic Show were playing. We have seen them play before. They are a lot of fun to watch. We all got our beach chairs and walked from my parents house. It was kind of neat because all my brothers and sisters came. I really love that we are all so close and enjoy spending time together.

Friday: We relaxed most of the day. We walked to 3rd street to do a little shopping. Of course while we were there we had to stop and get gelato! My favorite flavors are Stracciatella and Toasted Almond. YUM! We went to a friends birthday party in the evening. Bodhi was pretty well behaved. He fell asleep early which was nice. Then Ray and I got to enjoy chatting with everyone.

Saturday: More relaxing today. In the evening we visited with our friends Kristi and Al and their new baby. She is soooo cute and small. It was such a nice visit. I can't wait until she's old enough for playdates.

Sunday: We ended our week with a visit to meet up with Ray's parents at Ventura Harbor. We decided to take the longer, prettier route driving along PCH. It was such a lovely day. The weather was perfect. The harbor reminded me a lot of Marina del Rey, but with more people walking around. We had lunch and ice cream and then looked in some of the shops. We all had a lot of fun in the hat shop trying on all the funny hats. Bodhi really likes his grandparents and was hoping for a ride on their motorcycle. hmmm maybe in a few years.

vacation week

I'm calling this vacation week since it will be the only week that Ray and I have off work together this summer. I'm going back to work on Monday and Ray will be off the next two months. Originally we were thinking we would go out of town, but it didn't happen. So instead we're doing fun things everyday.

Sunday:  Ray played computer games with the guys all day and Sherry, Christina and I took the kids to the Natural History Museum to see the butterfly exhibit.  The butterflies were so beautiful and flying all over the place.  The rest of the museum had lots of animal exhibits and an insect zoo.  I think all the kids had fun.  I think Bodhi enjoyed the butterflies the most.  It was the only exhibit he didn't sleep through.

Monday: Sherry and Miles came over and we went out to lunch at Tony P's.  I love going there and eating outside on the patio, and dreaming about being out on one of the boats in the Marina.  The kids were pretty well behaved at lunch - Yeah!  Afterwards Sherry and I did a little shopping with the babies.

Tuesday:  Ugh!  Bodhi had his immunizations today.  so sad.  Poor little guy, he was quite miserable all day.  He kept crying and wanting to be held.  He got a little bit of a fever too.  I felt so bad for him.  I was really glad both Ray and I were home to take care of him so that we could take turns holding him.  He finally started to feel better in the early evening.  He weighed 12lbs 12oz and is 24 1/2 inches long at this appt. Oh he is getting so big already.

Wednesday:  We went to Legoland with Miles and Sherry.  Overall it was a pretty good day.  We met up with Sherry, Miles and their kids at the park.  There wasn't a lot of rides that we could take the babies on but Mason got to go on several rides.  The most interesting part of the park was looking at all the lego worlds that were created out of millions of legos.

Well that's what we've done so far....  to be continued

summer fun

We have been having so much fun this summer, and I haven't been on the computer in several weeks to post what's been going on. There are lots of birthdays in July so we have been getting together with the family to celebrate.  We have been spending time outside everyday enjoying the summer. Lots of shopping, walking around the neighborhood, and visiting with friends.  This past week we even went to the OC fair.  Bodhi got a little scared when we walked by the sheep pens.  They kept baaaing at him.

4 months

Bodhi is four month old today. Wow, the time is just flying by. We have been having sooo much fun. The cutest thing lately has been to hear him laughing. I have tried to catch this on video but as soon as i point the camera at him he always stops. I'm going to keep working on getting it. He has been drooling quite a bit the last few weeks. So much so that I have been calling him drools. He is quite content to chew on his hand or anything else he can get into his mouth, including dad's fingers, clothes, blankets, toys... He is still working on rolling onto his tummy from his back. He can roll onto his side but needs a little push to make it over all the way.

fun in the sun

Extra long post for an extra long weekend.  This past weekend was 4th of July weekend and we got to play hosts :)  Day one, Friday, was a beach day... everyone came over and we walked over to the beach for some playing in the sand, playing in the surf and, Bodhi's favorite, napping by the seashore.  Later we went back home, ate some dinner and went to see fireworks!

Day two, Saturday, we had additional guests as my sister and her boyfriend came down to visit, too.  We took a stroll down to Santa Monica pier, played some games on the boardwalk and watched all the people (there were a lot of them too!).  On our way home we walked by 3rd street Promenade for some gelato, yum!

Happy 4th everybody!!
