happy birthday bodhi

Wednesday was Bodhi's 3rd birthday, so Ray and I took the day off work to take Bodhi to Disneyland (of course)! We had a great day, even though it was a bit crowded. Sherry and the kids met us there later in the afternoon. We managed to get on most of Bodhi's favorite rides including Winnie the Pooh, Casey Jr. Train, It's a small world, and the tree house (although I passed on the tree house this time. Too many steps!). We told Bodhi that it was his birthday and that he is three now, but he says he's still two. I think he is waiting to blow out the candles on his birthday cake this weekend before he turns three.

Snow Day!

We recently came back from a fun weekend in the snow. We stayed two nights this time and were really glad that we did. We booked the cabin a couple of months in advance and it was in the middle of a heat wave, I was worried that there wouldn't be any snow left by the time we got there. Worry not though, by the time the date arrived we were expecting record cold temperatures and a big snowstorm coming that night. We got up there and settled in and then the snow started. Overnight, we got about a foot of snow... that's right, 12 inches of snow in one night! We woke up to a winter wonderland and a couple of buried cars.

That's a foot of snow on that railing!

Hey, where'd the car go!

It snowed pretty heavily for most of the next day as well.  Bodhi helped me shovel a path across the patio and then we all built a snow fort and had snowball fights!

After another night at the cabin we packed up our things and headed back toward town, stopping for a while to do a little sledding.

Wheeeeee!

It was a great trip, and it was extra fun to be up there while the snow was actually falling. All the kids had a great time too, though, I think their favorite thing to do with the snow was eating it.

Om, nom, nom, nom!

laundry day

I can only imagine how much more laundry i will be doing once the baby arrives. Thankfully I have a little helper who likes to put in the soap and start the machine. Now if he could only carry the laundry basket down to the laundry room.
