17 months

Bodhi is 17 months! He has been saying lots of new words and can even put some words together. New words include bye bye, mine, my ball, up (to be picked up), boo boo, ow, juice, and hot. He can mimic the animal sounds for dinosaur, elephant, cow, cat and monkey. He knows and can point out his ears, eyes, nose, cheek, belly button, fingers, knees, and toes. He can feed himself with a spoon and fork and can drink from a cup without spilling (for a few sips anyways). Recently he has been going through separation anxiety and cries whenever I leave the house. It is so hard to leave him when he is crying but I try to go quickly. He also gets upset when we have to leave his cousins house too! He has so much fun playing with Dahlia and Mason. He loves to look at pictures of himself on our cameras and especially likes to watch videos of himself over and over and over again. This video is his current favorite:

driving the car

One of Bodhi's favorite things to do lately is to get in the front seat of the car and "drive". Anytime we leave the house he wants to get the key from me and then he runs over to the car and starts to put the key into the lock to unlock the door. Once I open the door he jumps inside the driver's seat and grabs the wheel, saying whee. He usually pushes a bunch of buttons, while I get the rest of our stuff loaded into the car. He thinks this game is so much fun!

A veritable smorgasbord

Me and my sisters took our kids to the OC fair on Friday. We all had a great time, especially the kids. I was so surprised that there were so many fun things for children to do. We ended up spending the whole day there exploring everything. Bodhi really enjoyed the petting zoo, riding the kids tractor and digging through the dried beans to find the hidden pigs. Before we left the house, Christina and I talked about all the food we were going to eat at the fair and by the end of the day we managed to eat fried zucchini, ice cream, bbq chicken, roasted corn, lemonade and churros. whew! We were quite stuffed! We never did get that texas donut though (a donut as big as your head). Oh well, there's always next year.
