butterfly garden
A friend of mine got this butterfly kit for Bodhi for his birthday. What a great gift! I thought it would be a good time to send away for the caterpillars this month since we have been spending so much time at home. The caterpillars lived in a small cup until they turn into chrysalides. At that point we moved them into the mesh butterfly garden. Once they turned into butterflies, we observed them for a few days and then released them outside. I think Bodhi liked the whole process of seeing the caterpillars change. Every day he would look into the small cup as the caterpillars got bigger and bigger. He was very cute when we finally released the butterflies. He kept saying "come here little butterfly" as he put his hand into the habitat to coax the butterflies out.

outings with Kira
We have been venturing out more now that Kira is two months old. Some places have been a breeze (the aquarium and science museum) where she slept in the stroller most of the time and other places have been not as easy. We have had at least two trips to trader joes that ended with me cutting the shopping trip very short because she was screaming. I don't want people to think I can't sooth my baby, but the truth is even when I pick her up she still cries. I feel like I'm still just getting to know her and what she wants. She is so different then Bodhi was at this age. Bodhi liked pacifiers so most of the time when he would cry we would give him a pacifier but Kira just spits them out and keeps crying. I have been getting a little stir crazy hanging out at home though, so I have been trying to get her used to her car seat and riding in the car. Hmm not sure that is going so well...

buzz lightyear
Bodhi wanted to try on his buzz lightyear costume that he wore last Halloween. After wearing it for a while, running around saying "Buzz Lightyear to the rescue" he laid down on the chair and fell asleep. I don't know how he could have slept in that hot costume for as long as he did. Kids are so funny.

Kira's first disney adventure
We decided to take both Kira and Bodhi to Disneyland. Crazy, I know. I'm still wondering why I thought bringing a two month old to Disney would be a good idea. I felt like I was either nursing or changing a diaper most of the day. However, we did manage to get on a few rides and I think Bodhi had a good time right up until he started to get a fever. What!? Seriously? Okay, I think its time to go home now.
