Pushing

Bodhi had graduated from riding to pushing. All of his favorite riding toys have now become pushing toys. If you've been reading our posts, you'll remember his all-time favorite riding toy:

"A ride? No thanks, I got it."

My parents got him a tonka truck that can be played with while sitting, riding or pushing. They have a great way of getting him toys that he can grow into as his skills develop. He used to love riding around on the truck (still does, actually), but now he more often plays with it like this:

"Look out! Here I come!!"

Congratulations, Bodhi! You're one step closer to walking!!

so messy

Why does eating have to be sooo messy. I know all the books say to be patient and allow them to put their fingers in everything and to feed themselves with the spoon. I really do try, but I probably lose my patience sooner than I should. Bodhi will grab the spoon and then bang it on the table splattering the food everywhere, on his face, all over the walls, and in his lap. Of course all the messiness does make for some good photos ops. He does look pretty cute with yogurt all over his face.

The finger foods are much easier and Bodhi really likes to eat small pieces of food, so the majority of the time I give him cut up veggies, noodles and fruit. Although I'm not actually sure how much he is actually eating. I will think he's doing really good and eating alot until I pick him up out of his highchair and I swear all the food I gave him falls out of his lap!

exploring

Bodhi loves to explore, moving from room to room, looking into drawers and cupboards, inspecting any items or toys he might find along the way. He loves riding his truck and playing peekaboo. He really loves to look at our bikes and touch the wheels and most recently stand up on the pedals. yikes! Good thing we are watching him the whole time. He just recently started pointing and will point to things he wants. When we are carrying him and he wants to go into another room, he will point in that direction.

L.A. zoo

We wanted to get outside and do something fun this weekend so we decided to go to the Los Angeles Zoo. Ray, Bodhi and I went with Miles, Sherry and their kids. The kids really enjoyed being outside for the day and looking at all the animals. Bodhi's favorite animals were the zebras, mandrills, and the jaguar. I felt bad for the Jaguar; it seemed to me that he didn't have any space to run around. Some of the animals had plenty of space and others didn't seem to have enough. My favorite animal was the Wallaby that was carrying her baby in her pouch. I also liked seeing the Giraffes look out over the crowds of people as if to say "hello there, what are you staring at?"

Look at these monkeys!

11 months

Bodhi is so close to walking on his own. He has taken a few steps already and is really good at standing and balancing for a minute or two before sitting down. He doesn't do a lot of crawling and much prefers to stand and cruise around holding on to furniture for support. His half crawl is so funny though. He crawls with one knee and and one foot. I thought he would eventually crawl on two knees but he never did. He has tried several new foods and seems to like it all. New favorites are mango and yogurt. He has been babbling more and saying dada and daddy all the time. hmmm. what about some love for mama!

Would you like some Mango?

Look at this toy, it has lights!

Time now for a nice sit

laundry day

Bodhi loves laundry day when the laundry basket comes out of the closet and he can get in and go for a ride. Too funny!
