Year update

We had Bodhi's one year check up this week. He weighed 17lbs 11oz and is 28 inches tall. He had to get two shots (one in each arm) and we have to come back in 3 months to get more. He was pretty good at the doctor's office and only cried for a few seconds. He is getting really good at walking and is quite fast now. He still holds his arms in the air for balance and picks up his feet really high so as not to trip. He really enjoys going on our daily walks and loves to look at dogs as we pass them on the street. He will point at them and call out like he is telling them to come over and visit. He is trying more and more table foods, and likes most of what he tries. Peas and rice are still his favorites, but he is also enjoying string cheese, oranges and pasta.

one year old

Today was Bodhi's actual birthday, so of course we went to Disneyland! Yay! Bodhi's favorite ride was definitely It's a small world. He was waving his arms and clapping his hands during the whole ride (see a little video clip below). He also got to meet Mickey Mouse on this trip and he kept grabbing his nose. I can't believe my little baby is one year old. I can still remember being in the hospital with him a year ago. This has been the most amazing year with Bodhi in our lives.

birthday party

Bodhi's party was this last Saturday. I am really happy with how everything turned out. We did very easy food - hotdogs, salads, fruit kabobs and cupcakes and sugar cookies. I probably went a little overboard by getting personalized m&m's with Bodhi's picture on them, but I couldn't help myself and they were so cute! It was so nice to see all our friends and family. I loved watching Bodhi hold his birthday cupcake with both hands and take a big bite.

Yum Yum!

Getting Around...

Bodhi has been cruising for quite a while now. He would tool around the place holding on to the table or bookshelves to steady himself. Finally, he started taking risks by letting go to take a couple steps in the narrow gaps between furniture. At first it was almost like he was falling toward things but taking just enough quick steps to make it there before going down. Then the gaps started getting wider and wider...

Barely made it!

Now he's getting more and more steady and is taking little walks into the center of a room without having a new handhold to aim for. This one was taken just as Mommy gets home. I think the excitement of seeing her overrides the idea of needing support from a wall or table.

Mommy's home! Yay!

We're so proud! Go, Bodhi, Go!

party planning

When we first went to the party store to look for party supplies, Bodhi really seemed to like the jungle animals, so we decided to go with that theme. Everyday he goes through the bags of supplies looking at everything. We are so excited for the big day.

Planning a party is exhausting
