beach days
We haven't gotten in many beach days this summer because it honestly has been too cold! What! I know that sounds crazy. What's summer without warm days to spend sitting on the sand. We did manage to make it a few times though.
One trip was a bit interesting when a swarm of bees landed on some guys stuff. As they were trying to retrieve some of their things the bees would start moving around again. They started landing on our stuff, so we had to pick up and moved down the beach a bit. It was so strange to see all those bees everywhere.

a little fun at the fair
Bodhi I met his Aunt Sherry and his cousins at the OC fair this last Friday. We saw lots of animals this time. The kids got to pet baby chicks and see baby piglets.
Later in the day we sat in the bleachers to watch the pig races. Too funny!
Of course we ate too much fair food and went on a few rides. Bodhi tried cotton candy for the first time and suprise, surprise he loved it!
We also enjoyed in no particular order, ice cream, frozen bananas, frozen lemonade, bbq chicken, roasted corn, and sweet potato fries. Wow, that sounds like a lot of food when you write it down, but we were there ALL day. Bodhi loved going down the super big slides and riding the choo-choo, but he was a bit sad when he found out he was little to go on some of the rides.

Centennial Farm and other fun places
My friend Kristi will be going back to work soon after her maternity leave ends, so Bodhi and I have been enjoying spending time with her and Vivian to explore some fun places. It is so cute to see our little kids interact with each other.

Another trip was to the Natural history museum. Both of the kids loved running around the museum and I do mean this literally as they just chased each other around through the various halls. We did get them to sit to watch the dinosaur show, which was a big hit and we got to see all the beautiful butterflies flying around the butterfly exhibit.

Another day was spent at the LA Zoo (we are really enjoying that membership!). It was quite a warm day and once the kids found the water misters they spent most of their time running after each other trying to cool off. We did manage to see a few animals though-the hippos, monkeys, lions (who incidentally, are always sleeping every time we visit) and the rhinos.
We really liked visiting Centennial farm. There is a big red barn and of course they have a lot of farm animals. We fed some goats and walked around the farm to see all the animals. They have pigs and sheep and chickens, oh my! We also walked through the fruit and vegetable garden on the property.

Little Drummer Boy
While at Miles and Sherry's house, Bodhi took to the drums to wow us with his musical stylings. I think he's already surpassed me in talent.
Play some Skynyrd, man! Freebird!

bodhi's first movie

We took Bodhi to the movie theater to see Toy Story 3. Both Ray and I were really excited to take him to his first movie in the Theater. We weren't sure how he would do, if he would sit the whole time, but he was really great. He did get up a few times alternating sitting in his seat and sitting on his Daddy's lap. But we all got to see the entire movie and it was sooo good! I know this is gonna sound crazy but I actually cried. It had a few touching moments though and of course now that I have Bodhi, I think about those moments when my son will be old enough to move away to college and it makes me a little weepy. For now I will just enjoy that he is still only 2 and we have many more movies to enjoy together and so many other firsts.
